Vietnamization
Vietnamization was the United States trying to withdraw from Vietnam, while still keeping the Communist influence out of the South. The plan was to train the troops, establish democratic political leaders, and improve the infrastructure enough that the south could hold off the north without American aid. Ultimately, the plan failed, and the south and north were joined under a Communist regime. Soon, Laos and Cambodia would join, and culminate in the ultimate failure of the United States in regard to the spread of Communism.
